Recipients
Save beneficiaries in the Harbor Portal, so their details fill in automatically when you create a transfer.
In the Harbor Portal, you can save beneficiaries (recipients) you send to often. When you create a transfer and pick a saved beneficiary, their details fill in automatically.
Recipients saved in the Portal are the same as the ones in the Recipients API, so you can manage them from either place.
Adding a Beneficiary
You can save a beneficiary:
- On the Beneficiaries page: add the beneficiary and their details, such as the name, address and contact info.
- At the end of a completed transfer: save the details you entered for that transfer.
- With the API: see Recipients.
One Beneficiary per Route
A saved beneficiary is for one route: one country and one payment method, with the payout details for it. Details aren't copied between routes, even for the same person.
To send to the same person in a different way, save a separate beneficiary for each route. For example, to pay Sam Rivera in two ways:
- Sam Rivera – SPEI: a local transfer in Mexico, with their CLABE.
- Sam Rivera – Wire: an international wire, with their bank name, account number and SWIFT/BIC.
If you pick "Sam Rivera – SPEI" for an international wire, only the fields the two have in common, such as the name and address, are filled in. The bank details stay empty.
Auto-Fill
Saved details are used on the transfer form, before you submit the transfer. They aren't shown on the Beneficiaries page.
- Create a transfer and open the recipient details.
- Pick a saved beneficiary. The Portal shows Auto-filled from saved beneficiary.
- Check the filled fields and complete any that are empty. You can edit any value before you submit.
Only fields that match the form are filled. Fields that don't match the format the form expects may be skipped.
